Slow to read this. Super healing for me. I am still aching at the loss of Chris Cornell. No one had a more powerful effect on my young songwriting-wanna-be ears. Thank you for your wisdom and maturity in these posts! You are very good at this! - Judd

I was immediately surprised by the evolution in sounds. A&EA was EXTREMELY organic as far as instrumentation and production; it could've been recorded in the 60s for the most part. So, sonically, RtS was fresh (for them) with more guitar effects (and distortion) as well as stuff like mellotrons and stuff. I loved it right off. The biggest tribute I can give is that, when we finally got home from Brazil, I took no time to learn half the songs on piano. I'd be singing Miller's Angels or Goodnight Elisabeth all day.
